5 years ago, after starting my journey at the university, I started learning sewing, embroidering, and knitting at home, by-myself, relying on the online tutorials. At the age of 18, I took a significant step forward by establishing my very own brans, Philagrama. Especially during the pandemic period it helped me to grow my experience because finding a job during that period was impossible. Currently I don’t have a team and I am crafting each and every piece of collections with my own hands. At this moment I am working on my portfolio works and putting everything under the same label. It gives me the opportunity to work in the direction of graphic design and also fashion design.

 

Philagrama is more than a simply clothing line for me. It creates a space where I can express myself and show my inner world. I believe that everyone should have a place where they can emphasise their true selves. During my teenage years, I remember watching videos showcasing the process behind magnificent piece of garments produced by the big fashion houses like Versace, Prada, Valentino, Dior, Chanel. This was a transformative thing, it became a source of my inspiration and I realised that if ever wanted to create something unique, it had to be handmade. When I am sitting in front of a fabric for hours and adding little details to it, I feel like I am giving it a soul and a personality. It is unique, it is only one, doesn’t matter how many dresses I will make, some details even by one millimetre, will be different from one another.

 

What is confidence? What role does it have in our daily lives? Confidence empowers us to radiate success, beauty, sensuality and intelligence. I firmly believe that confidence is the key to our success. When I go out into the world wearing Philagrama, my very own creations, I embody that self-assuredness. I feel somehow powerful when someone offers a compliment on a garment I have crafted or expresses a desire to have one of my pieces. This is when I feel confident, beautiful, sexy and smart. Fashion gives me a confidence and through my brands, I can empower other people to feel the same. From my point of view, the essence of self-love unadulterated, sublime, should be embraced by one and all, celebrating the beauty of their existence exactly as it is.

 

Other than the results which I am achieving in the end, I can’t forget how much fun the creative process is itself. Dress design, shape and the colour somehow is being created in my head in 2 minutes.. its a mystery I still can’t explain, but I absolutely love that feeling. Creating a collection is filled with unforgettable moments and memories. It starts with sketching out designs, bringing fabric to life and then, organising exciting photoshoots. While I wish I had stronger connections with fellow professionals in the field to help me grow I know that with time and patience, I’ll be able to make it happen.
